Ralam is a
beautiful glacier located in Munsiyari tehsil of Pithoragarh
district within Kumaon region of the hill state of Uttarakhand
in India. |

This
magnificent glacier is situated at an elevation of
2, 290 meters above the sea level near Ralam Dhura at Ralam
Khal.Glaciological features of Ralam are divided into two - Upper
Ralam and Lower Ralam. |

Interestingly, three other glaciers
meet Ralam glacier. They are kalabaland, sutela and yangchar.
The Ralam glacier lies at the base of the great Himalayan
wall. |

Trek to
Ralam Glacier (50 Km) |
| The fascinating trek to Ralam glacier is not an easy task. You
must keep aside at least 8-10 days exclusively for the entire
trek to this mighty Himalayan glacier. The maximum altitude of
this trek would be 3, 900 meters above the sea level. Ralam
glacier is about a 50 Km trek from Munsiyari. During the trek
from Munsiyari to Ralam, some of the important destinations
that you will stop over at are Lilam, Panton and Sapa-Odiyar.
Ralam village is also not far from Sapa-odiyar. From Ralam
village, the glacier is about 15 km trek. |
